Mr Samuel Bonsu Sekyere - Chief Executive Officer
Samuel Sekyere Bonsu has been appointed Chief Executive Office of Atwima Kwanwoma Bank PLC. The appointment followed a recommendation from the Board of Directors of the Bank after a competitive and thorough interview and has been approved by the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
Prior to his appointment, he was the Head, of Banking Operations since 2016 and an Internal Auditor of the bank in August 2000, having worked with the State Housing Company for many years. He has headed other divisions of the bank including the Operations department. Mr. Bonsu Sekyere holds a Master of Business Administration (Accounting) from KNUST and BA (Hons) Accounting from the University of Education, Kumasi. He works with due diligence and enforces compliance to expected standards.
Ms Mercy Asante - Head Credits
Ms. Asante heads the Credit Department. She joined the service of the bank in May 1996 as a Project Officer to assist the structuring of the Credit department. She played a vital role in the formulation of the bank’s credit manual and has risen through the ranks to assume his current role. Ms. Asante has had numerous exposures to credit delivery and human resources management from International institutions such as Uganda Finance Trust, Kampala; National Institute of Small Industry Extension Training (Nisiet) in Hyderabad, India; International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin, Italy. She has to her credit BSc (Hons) in Finance and Entrepreneurship Development from the Garden City University College and Diploma in Estate Management from KNUST.
Afia Sarfowaa Brobbey Kodua (Mrs) - Head, Human Resource Administration
Afia Sarfowaa Brobbey Kodua (Mrs) is the Head of the Human resources and Administration department. She joined the bank in 2007 as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer. Being a newly created office, she instituted administrative systems and procedures that supported the efficiency of the Chief Executive functions to staff, the Board, customers, Shareholders and the general public.
For her position, she served on high level Board and Management Committees as Secretary ensuring accurate recording of proceedings with the highest standard of confidentiality. She has worked over the years with management members to review and develop policies for the bank in line with industry changes and reforms.
In 2016, she was appointed by the Board to head the Human Resource and Administration department. She has with support from her management team introduce significant administrative reforms to the department to be able to attract and retain competent workforce for the bank.
Mrs. Brobbey Kodua has to her credit Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Linguistics from the University of Ghana-Legon, Masters in Business Administration (Human Resource Management) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource and Management, Ghana (ACIHRM) and an Associate member of the Association of Certified Corporate Professionals in Africa (ACCPA).
Peter Duodu - Head, Compliance
Peter Duodu joined the bank in March 2001 and was part of the team that started the monitoring unit. By dint of hard work he rose through the ranks to become a branch Manager in August 2010 after serving in the Audit department for several years. *He currently heads the Risk and Compliance department. He holds BBA Accounting from the Garden City University College, Ghana Accounting Technicians (GAT) final certificate from ICA Ghana and certificate in Anti- Money Laundering (AML) from Association of Certified Compliance professionals in Africa-ACCPA Certified
