Mr Samuel Bonsu Sekyere - Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Samuel Sekyere Bonsu serves as the esteemed Chief Executive Officer of Atwima Kwanwoma Bank PLC. Prior to his ascension to this critical role, he held the pivotal position of Head of Banking Operations since 2016, during which he consistently showcased remarkable leadership and management abilities.
Commencing his illustrious journey with our bank in August 2000, Mr. Bonsu Sekyere fulfilled the key role of an Internal Auditor, leveraging the wealth of knowledge and experience accrued from his tenure at the State Housing Company. His tenure here witnessed him spearheading multiple divisions within the bank, notably the Operations department, thereby displaying his dynamic and diverse skill set.
In terms of academic credentials, Mr. Bonsu Sekyere holds a distinguished Master of Business Administration degree, with a specialized focus on Accounting, from the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). This complements his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Accounting from the renowned University of Education in Kumasi.

Ms Mercy Asante - Head Credits
Ms. Asante holds the prestigious position of Head of our Credit Department. Her association with our banking family began in May 1996, when she stepped into the role of Project Officer, playing a crucial part in structuring the emerging Credit Department. With unparalleled dedication and innovative thinking, she made significant contributions towards the establishment of our bank's comprehensive credit manual.
Her unwavering commitment and proven acumen have seen her rise through the bank's ranks to her current leadership role. Throughout her tenure, she has been privy to extensive training in credit delivery and human resource management from some of the world's most prestigious institutions. Her educational journey encompasses globally recognized institutions such as the Uganda Finance Trust in Kampala, the National Institute of Small Industry Extension Training (Nisiet) in Hyderabad, India, and the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Turin, Italy.
Academically, Ms. Asante is armed with a BSc (Hons) in Finance and Entrepreneurship Development from the esteemed Garden City University College. She further bolstered her educational profile with a Diploma in Estate Management from the illustrious Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Owing to her profound expertise and leadership, our Credit Department continues to thrive and progress.
Mr. Collins Agyarko - Head, Operations
Commencing his distinguished career at the bank as a humble clerk in September 2002, Mr. Collins Agyarko's journey reflects a testament to his relentless determination and unwavering perseverance. His progression through the ranks was marked by his significant contributions across a myriad of roles in Mainstream Banking, the IT Department (where he spearheaded the bank's computerization initiative in 2005), and the Accounts Department.
In July 2009, his consistent display of commitment, depth of experience, and strong work ethic earned him the role of Branch Manager of the New Tafo branch. Before this, he served as the Head of Finance from 2015, offering invaluable advice to management on income and expenditure control strategies and alerting them to changes in financial regulations and legislation that could potentially impact the bank's operations.
Academically, Mr. Agyarko stands out as an accounting graduate from the Christian Service University College, Kumasi-Ghana. He accomplished his degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting, with First Class Honours. Furthermore, as a certified Chartered Accountant, he holds membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana), the Intermediate Certificate from the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana, and the Ghana Securities Industry Certificate from the Ghana Stock Exchange.
Afia Sarfowaa Brobbey Kodua (Mrs) - Head, Human Resource Administration
Afia Sarfowaa Brobbey Kodua (Mrs) is the Head of the Human resources and Administration department. She joined the bank in 2007 as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer. Being a newly created office, she instituted administrative systems and procedures that supported the efficiency of the Chief Executive functions to staff, the Board, customers, Shareholders and the general public.
For her position, she served on high level Board and Management Committees as Secretary ensuring accurate recording of proceedings with the highest standard of confidentiality. She has worked over the years with management members to review and develop policies for the bank in line with industry changes and reforms.
In 2016, she was appointed by the Board to head the Human Resource and Administration department. She has with support from her management team introduce significant administrative reforms to the department to be able to attract and retain competent workforce for the bank.
Mrs. Brobbey Kodua has to her credit Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Linguistics from the University of Ghana-Legon, Masters in Business Administration (Human Resource Management) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource and Management, Ghana (ACIHRM) and an Associate member of the Association of Certified Corporate Professionals in Africa (ACCPA).
Peter Duodu - Head, Compliance
Mr. Peter Duodu, the distinguished Head of our Risk and Compliance department, has been a cornerstone of our bank since March 2001. Launching his career as part of the trailblazing monitoring unit, Mr. Duodu has demonstrated a commendable level of dedication. His fast-track career progression saw him ascend to the role of Branch Manager in August 2010, following numerous years of invaluable contributions to the Audit department.
Academically, Mr. Duodu holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, specializing in Accounting, from the esteemed Garden City University College. He has further enhanced his professional portfolio with the Ghana Accounting Technicians (GAT) final certification from ICA Ghana. His commitment to compliance is demonstrated by the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification he has obtained from the Association of Certified Compliance Professionals in Africa (ACCPA). With such a robust foundation of knowledge and expertise, Mr. Duodu plays a critical role in maintaining our bank's commitment to rigorous risk management and compliance.
